Gratitude for Oakwood Families, Past and Present

Over the past four weeks, Oakwood has hosted several evenings to recognize and thank families who support the Annual Fund at a leadership level.

Donors at the Champions’ Circle Level, those who give $15,000 or more to the Annual Fund, were invited to one of three small celebratory gatherings of 10 people in Jim’s office. Jim and Board Chair, Meryl Chae, were able to acknowledge the exceptional generosity of these families and to engage in conversation with them about what makes Oakwood Oakwood.

Our Annual Headmaster’s Circle Evening, recognizing donors who gave $7,500 or more to the Annual Fund, was held on April 4 in the Community Room on the secondary campus. This year’s celebration was extra special as guests received a copy of the book If School Keeps, which was written by founding parent, Jessica Ryan. Guests mingled in the courtyard and enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Lucques prior to the program that featured Jessica’s son, Cheyney Ryan, one of Oakwood’s very first students, and Jim, who spoke about how Oakwood came to be and shared stories both moving and humorous. It was an unforgettable evening and everyone left with a piece of Oakwood history.
