On Tuesday, April 2 Paul Krekorian, Los Angeles City Councilmember for the Second District, invited Oakwood teacher Melissa Berton and students to City Hall where they were honored for Period. End of Sentence. and their ongoing work with The Pad Project.
The event began with an introduction by Mr. Krekorian, followed by a showing of the film’s trailer. Melissa and 1oth grade student Mason then addressed the council chambers, giving a brief description of the issues addressed by the film and an overview of what lies ahead for the non-profit. Thank you to Councilmember Krekorian for recognizing the work of our school, and congratulations to our students and faculty for their incredible work.
