Across both elementary and secondary campuses, students collected a donation of about 300 lbs. of candy for the California Army National Guard State Family Program—a timely Veterans Day delivery.
In partnership with Operation Gratitude‘s Halloween Candy Give-Back Program to deliver excess sweets to Military & First Responders, Oakwood K-12 students were excited to make a contribution to help support those who put themselves at risk to ensure our liberties.

It has been great for our young students to feel a small sense of sacrifice (not easy to give away that candy!) and understand on a level what it means for those who do so at great measure on a daily basis. It was especially meaningful to donate on Veterans Day and have the coincidence of a flyover as we were getting ready to take our group photo!
