Welcome to Our Newest Trustees

We would like to extend a warm welcome and introduce you to the following individuals as new Trustees of the Oakwood Board…

Lori Hall Armstrong is an attorney, strategist, and relationship broker with a wealth of experience across both the public and private sectors. She is the founder and principal of Verbify, LLC, a boutique strategy consulting firm. Her background includes practicing law, working in city and state government as the City Council Chief of Staff and State Regional Director, respectively, and serving as Campaign Manager for a Manhattan Borough President’s race. Ms. Hall Armstrong has also served on two political transition teams including former Newark Mayor Cory Booker; and has held positions with the Ford Motor Company and LexisNexis. She currently sits on the board of Girls Inc. of Greater Los Angeles. 

Lori and her husband, Michael, are proud Oakwood parents of Caleb ‘22 and Coleman ‘28. Lori and her family have been incredible ambassadors for Oakwood and speak at prospective parent events. She currently co-chairs the Oakwood Parent Org Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee and served on the 2018–19 Special Event Auction committee.


John Jones is the President/CEO of Greystone Management Group, Inc. and Medford Financial Group. Greystone Management Group Inc. manages a portfolio of over 1,600 apartment homes located throughout Los Angeles. John is a hands-on leader; whose goal is to provide the best apartment value in each of the communities they are located in. Medford Financial Group, Inc. acts as a broker/servicer for the private money first trust deeds on apartment buildings in which they originate and invest. John oversees all business services and loans.

John earned his MBA in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California; Marshall School of Business and he earned his BA in Economics from Tufts University.  John has been an advisory board member of the California Apartment Association, and Board Chair of his YPO chapter.

John is a native Angeleno and attended Harvard-Westlake high school. He and his wife, Tara, are Oakwood parents of Sophia ‘23, Trevor ‘26, and Henry ‘29. Tara is a past Parent Org President, and John was the Parent Org Treasurer for many years.

Dana Settle is a partner and co-founder at Greycroft, and heads the firm’s Los Angeles west coast office. She currently manages the venture capital firm’s investments in companies that include App Annie Inc., Bird, Clique, Comparably, Goop, Happiest Baby, Seed, Thrive Market, Versed, and WideOrbit. 

Prior to Greycroft, Dana spent several years as a venture capitalist and advisor to startup companies in the Bay Area, including six years at Mayfield, where she focused on early stage companies in the mobile communications and consumer internet markets. Her additional experience includes business development at Truveo (AOL), investment banking at Lehman Brothers, and international business development at McCaw Cellular Communications (AT&T).

Dana holds a BA in Finance and International Studies from the University of Washington, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for IMAX Corporation. Dana enjoys playing basketball with her sons Max ‘29 and Alex ‘30


David Weber is a partner with the law firm Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern, LLP, and represents clients in the sports and entertainment industries. David has been named a Super Lawyer for 2020, earning the respect of the legal community as one of the top-rated attorneys in the nation. This selection is based on an evaluation of 12 indicators including peer recognition and professional achievement in legal practice, and is limited to a small number of attorneys in each state.

David is a Los Angeles native and proud parent of his son Luke ‘24.
