My two sons graduated Oakwood (’16, ’18), and I was grateful every day that they were attending a school that did not tolerate bullying. Around the time my younger son made his college decision, we spoke about his going away to the East Coast, and that led to talking about the qualities one looks for in a friend. Funny, intelligent, honest, interesting were mentioned and I brought up ‘kind.’ “Oh mom,” my son said, his voice full of surprise, “That’s a given. All my Oakwood friends are kind.”
It’s that kind of school.
And for that, too, I am forever grateful.
