Girls Basketball Playing for School History

Thanks to Oakwood’s 47-41 win over Cate on February 24, they have advanced to the CIF-SS finals, a first for the Girls Basketball team in school history! They will play Garey High School in the Championship Game at 12pm on Saturday, March 3 at Colony High School in Ontario, CA. The Gorillas will go for a CIF-SS title, only the second in Oakwood School history since the Boys Basketball first grabbed the title in 1988. Show your Gorilla pride and come out to support the team!

March 4 UPDATE: By a final score of 60-48 in their game against Garey High School, Oakwood claimed its first ever CIF title for a girls team in any sport and the second ever in school history since Boys Basketball in 1988!

This win advances our Gorillas into the state playoffs where they face off against San Dieguito Academy on March 7.

March 8 UPDATE: Last night, our Girls Basketball team played in their first-ever CIF SoCal Regional tournament game. Our Gorillas fought hard but ultimately fell to San Dieguito Academy 57–43. Congratulations on your incredible season, and thanks to everyone in the Oakwood community who came out to support our team.

April 4 UPDATE: Angel Hardy has been named All CIFSS Division 5 Coach of the Year and Bree Reed Player of the Year! Congrats to both for this outstanding accomplishment and GO GORILLAS!
