Eco-Art on View at the Story Center

Oakwood families are invited to view an exhibition of 3rd–6th grade Eco-Artworks currently on display on both floors of the Story Center. Under the guidance of elementary school art teacher Christy Shelton, these creative works were conjured by transforming recycled materials collected by students into vibrantly colored sculptures. With each grade working in a different recycled material—3rd in wood, 4th in paper, 5th in plastic, and 6th in aluminum—our students gained a new perspective on giving waste materials new life, transforming discarded packaging and containers into wildly painted animals, fantastical figures, righteous robots, vehicles, vessels, and abstract compositions large and small.

The Eco-Art exhibition will be on view through December 8. Please stop by during library hours to enjoy it!
